The Multimedia & Immersive Technology Team (MAIT) were able to recover data from a Floppy Disk for Katie Bird, the UNSW archivist. Jason Chan was able to extract the alumni database from the disk using a 1993 PowerBook 165C. Jason copied the floppy disks to the laptop hardrive then transferred them back to a PC formatted disk to to read them on his 13” 2019 Mac Book Pro. Unfortunately, the powerbook 165C did not survive the operation and stopped working when reading the last of the 8 disks.
