Can I take my UNSW desktop computer and work from home
No, staff are not permitted to take UNSW desktop computers off-campus.
If you need to work from home, please make a request to your School or Centre for a laptop when your current Desktop Computer is due to be replaced (ie when it is out of warranty). If approved, TRC will contribute funds up to the value of a standard desktop, your School or Centre would need to contribute the rest of the funds.
Please remember to consider whether you will then need a docking station, monitor and adptors to use the laptop in your office. There are several models of laptops available and all IT purchasing in the faculty is managed by the TRC. We can then help you choose which model is right for you and what accessories and monitors are compatible.
If you would like to check when your current desktop computer is due for replacement, submit your request here.
