As a student of UNSW Arts and Social Sciences you will have access to some of the latest technologies and facilities.
Music facilities
If you are in need of a recording studio, electronic music lab, keyboard lab or piano studios then our music facilities have got you covered.
Film, sound and editing rooms
As a film or media student you may have access to film viewing rooms, video and sound editing rooms, a stop motion animation studio, multi-media labs in the Robert Webster building, and the SHELS Lab in Morven Brown.
Stop-motion animation studios
The two stop-motion studios located in the Robert Webster Building are adaptable and creative spaces that support a combination of traditional and digital animation practice.
Sound studios
The two sound studios in the Robert Webster Building are designed for music or film production. Deceptively simple, make no mistake these are powerful spaces. Just add imagination.
Language labs
Three sophisticated language labs are housed in the Morven Brown building. At the heart of the system is Sanako Lab100, an advanced digital language teaching solution. This equipment allows for a variety of interactive language teaching activities.
Conference interpreting room
Amongst the language labs in the Morven Brown building is a conference interpreting room. This room can facilitate 20 delegates speaking up to 6 languages. There are 5 interpreting booths that can house 10 interpreters. There is also an infrared listening system allowing for up to 30 audience members who can listen in any language. This facility allows students to cut their teeth on exactly the same equipment they will use in their professional career.
The SHELS lab
Configured with four (4-5 seat) collaborative pods, each with it's own shared screen. This is a seminar style computer lab - where each computer can be positioned so as to allow ease of conversation at each pod. All students in FASS can access the SHELS Lab (room 107 in Morven Brown).
